Community Acupuncture

What is Community Acupuncture?
While you rest in a reclined position needles are inserted into your hands, feet, lower arms, lower legs and head. You will rest with needles for about 20 minutes in a room with 2 other patients. This method of acupuncture utilizes the healing energy of a group environment while maintaining your confidentiality at all times.

How is this different from one-on-one treatments?
The acupoints used in community acupuncture are on the lower arms, hands, lower legs, feet, and head. All of these points are accessible with minimal movement of clothing. Also, you will rest with needles retained in a room with 2 other clients. Any and all discussion of your health information will take place in a different room so that confidentiality is honored at all times. During one-on-one treatment, points anywhere on your body may be used and you would lay on a table in a room by yourself.

How will these treatments help with concerns that are not on my lower arms and legs,
for example with headaches?

The acupoints on the arms, hands, legs, feet and head are very effective at moving and supplementing energy (qi) and help a wide variety of health problems including, but not limited to headaches, neck, back and other pain, insomnia, high stress levels, PMS, hot flashes, painful menses, anxiety and depression.

How much do treatments cost?
I wanted to make the great benefits acupuncture accessible to more people. The initial treatment will cost $35 and follow up treatments will cost $25. Payment is due at the time of your treatment. Payment methods include cash or check.

How long do treatments last?
Your first session lasts about 45 minutes because you need to fill out some paperwork and we will talk for about 10 minutes. Follow up treatments last about 30 minutes because we will check in on your progress and then you will rest and relax with needles for about 15 to 20 minutes.
