History of Oriental Medicine

Acupuncture and the techniques of Oriental Medicine have been effective methods of healthcare for more than 4,000 years. However it is only within the past 20 years that Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine has gained popularity in the United States.

Acupuncture involves the stimulation of various points on the body with fine, solid needles to help balance the “vital energy” or “qi” of the body. Acupuncture and Oriental medicine are based on the presence of “vital energy” or “qi” within our bodies.

Various health concerns occur when there is an imbalance within the “vital energy” system. For example, a woman might experience infertility due to an imbalance of qi within the body. Therefore, Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine are able to effectively treat the cause of the infertility by rebalancing the qi.
